You can use this mod to add fences (see github readme).
l made this mod because often fences are fairly similar to the nodes they consist of.
So if you add a fence with this mod, light_source, walkable etc. are copied from the origin node.

thanks for this idea, l think could use Sokomine's xconnected fence
