[Mod request] torches

Make it so you cannot walk through torches and if you touch them they take health points.

I think you have it backwards on the game you can, in real life you cannot.

yes but whos to say that when you move your head to dodge a torch that it takes the equivilant of 2 blocks to move through 1 is more sensible

Do you mean that you can only make it using get_object_inside_radius?
How about get_objects_inside_radius(pos, 0)

How about if you put the damage to player in an abm then it would only hurt you if you were standing directly next to and then you could set the interval to a length of time so that it would only work if you were standing next to long enough to get hot. but then I don't know how bumping into it would work

If the torches are set to do damage or impede movement most people are just going to go in and undo it. At least I will. The current torch mechanics are a staple item for making underwater entrances. Like ladders, signs, and rail tracks.

i definetly wouldnt want this...but this is going to be a mod and with as many mods that are not added to the game i doubt this one would so i see no harm in letting him request it and someone make it for him ^^

in minetest universe whenever the player goes through a torch he steps over it, moves his head to the side or ducks his head.

that is why we seem to pass through them.
