Have you ever got bored to have full chests of coal? to see that you only find that useless thing?
Once you crafted 10 blocks of coal it gets really anoying...

HERE comes my mod:

The Compressor allows you to turn 8 carbon into one diamond!

the process is long, but you can get more of them to start a factory ;)

you can get the carbon by crafting a 2*2 square of coal lumps!

Hope you will enjoy this becuz it's the first useful mod i make! ;)

8 coal lumps for one diamond? Isn't that a little bit cheap? 10 Minutes digging for a diamond armor?

You can already make a coal block out of 9 lumps

i know (i play minetest since 4 yearsXD)

coal is carbon+others minerals

carbon is pure mineral

diamond is compressed pure carbon :)

You are right. Good idea

the craft for the carbon is 4 coal which form a square!

you need eight of them for 1 diamond!

4*8=32coal!

you will need 32 coal lump and some time to get one diamond!
you will not have a full diamond stuff in 10 minutes.It might need half an hour with a great pick :)

But, i still think it's very cheap to get one diamond for 32 coal. Coal is everywhere, it even appear above ground in abundant. While diamond only appear very very deep underground (-300 iirc) and even then only in small amount.

A suggestion from me, maybe you can make the recipe so it needs 9 coals to make 1 pure carbon. 9 carbons to make 1 diamond. So it will cost 81 coals to make 1 diamond.

Well, diamonds are more common then the game makes them seem. the reason they are deep underground is because of the pressure which turns the carbon into diamonds so right now its acceptable

This mod is cool!
I see that it needs steel, and there isn't much iron around me, so just for fun,
I changed the code and now it's a lot easier to craft ^_^
