Would you be willing to put the mod on GitHub? That way people could easily browse the code and even contribute their own changes. Still, awesome idea!

You can make the pixelly textures for me :)
The way I make textures is first, in blender, I "UV unwrap" the model, and then color it in. So my textures are not as good.

New version includes:

-Odd shaped hit-box fixed!
-Two new colors!:
-Orange
-rainbow (red and blue)

The balloon textures might look better if you did something more like this.


Right now you have the UV map showing from when you exported/saved the texture from blender. The grid and lines show through, if you make the color solid it is a smaller file, and looks a little nicer. You could also experiment with adding a texture to the basket parts and then balloon portion.
