I was doing yard work today and had an idea, however I have no idea if this is possible. Perhaps a single Ivy block, kind of like Jungle grass, that will keep spreading. Then you have to cut it. And then it just keeps repeating. Is this possible?

Yes, but you could just change the textures of flower mods and to make it spread you could use part of the nature pack mod by neko, but I'd suggest a modder like Neko to help you.

In which directions should it grow?
Only up and down?

The will appear on grass (works only with new generated land, so walk/fly around a bit to find some).
