Yeah I haven't built any structures with them and wouldn't advise anyone to, they are just novelty.
I really like the mock up of the darkage reinforced wood and stained glass nodes myself
but I am afraid to see what happens if I use too many of them
I think with the right texture the box of fireflies would be okay to use;
can't seem to get the particles right tho :(

Just build a world with them, using 256 or 512px textures and call it crashtest... :D
These look really nice btw... lots n lotsa nodes
I have often thought about using NBE to create some statues but... not sure if I have the patience :P

Awesome mod. I would suggest (if legit) making the core sample a mesecon activator.

That's not a bad idea, you are talking about the animated one right?
I glad you like the mod, check back in the next week,I have some more I have been doodling with:
a hellraiser puzzle box (likely to be scrapped tho), some fancy furniture, and a little mese companion :)

Idea: Minetest icon in 3d block.
Idea2: Sheep should be generated on grass and should drop a woolless sheep(placeable down too) and a wool block. If you craft sheep with a member item of the grass group you will get a new sheep with wool.
I am talking about the animated one I think when I mean the Core Sample.

I like the idea about the MT Icon..might try that.
but texturing it will probably be next to impossible.
Don't know about the sheep, he's just a trampoline that makes noise when you bounce on him.
went ahead and added the mese companion cube (rough draft)
textures are also a work in progress, I am going to try and brighten it up.

That's the mese companion cube :)
I got your minetest icon worked out, couldn't get the red eyes in there tho.

This minetest icon looks even better than I imagined it.
EDIT:Can I send you my models to put them in the mod after I figured out how to install this editor on my system?

Yeah just either make a pull request on Github or put your stuff in a zip file and share as an attachment here.
But don't get mad if I edit/change stuff...that's kinda my hobby...mangling the creations of others :)
Check the repo, I added some minor support for mesecons mod.
I am not very familiar with Mesecons so its very basic stuff.

Haha I glad you like it :)
I just got the box of fireflies fixed.
The node now uses glowing particles instead of the animated texture.
looks much nicer.

not sure if you want to use this or not... it's about the best I could get the little red eyes in... too small a detail for 16px :P
but, anyway, they look kinda, sorts, eyes-ish O_o

didn't see a sense in doing a pr for this (use it if you like, don;t if you don't) :D

Many thanks, my dude....added in :)
I also updated the mod with some more custom textures
and reduced the # of nodebox coordinates in several nodes.
Edit: It's disabled, but there is a furniture.lua file for anyone that wants
to preview the furniture nodes I have created so far.

No problem if you change something. It's your mod not my one, but I have trouble installing the editor. I like to change stuff of others too.

That's exactly how I wanted to do it, Twoelk, with the hollowed out cave area,
but the way node boxes and textures work put a nix to those plans quick.
That's the same reason I had to alter it a little too just to get the textures to look decent.
A little blender model would be the way to go for a perfect replica.

Oh, I remember that one Melkor - and the other blender models of the icon by others.
so someday,
maybe on a museum world server,
like some of those hosted by OldCoder,
we might indeed enter a hall
with all those models of the icon
made over the time
nicely presented on displays.

UPDATE!!
Thanks to Orwell, I got the monochrome sound effects working right.
so if you use mesecons mod you get to listen to some snappy jams while you mine :)

This mod is pretty useable for maps as trophys and stuff I think. So I would suggest some ingame-editor to make them only placeable on certain blocks.
