i put it in my mods folder put how do you use it in other words what are the mod commands to use mesecons.i type in (/giveme mesecons) but nothing happens. plz help.

There are two possibilities:
Craft them from mese or use

Just have a look at mesecons_alias for crafting commands.
Please use the latest git version of mesecons!

Best thing to do is open the init.lua of a mod to see the correct name of the item. Then use the giveme command:
/giveme default:dirt 99 to get 99 dirt from the default mod
/giveme mesecons_blinkyplant:blinky_plant_off 70 to get70 blinky plants from the mesecons mod

It's easy to make typing mistakes, so try again sometimes

So 4 steps. 1. /giveme 2. modname: 3. itemname 4. amount

oh i tried it but it didnt work. can smeone write a list of commands plz.

what does it men when i says cannot give an empty item? tats what it told me when i typed

can someone just make a video tutorial im a visual person when it comes to this kind of stuff

Ok. First, I'm not a specialist in this, but I thought that for some of the default items, aliases were made (or some sort of shortcuts), making it possible to type only /giveme dirt 99. Try to do this for a steel_ingot and you'll see what I'm trying to say

About the 'empty item' error. If you wrote blinky plant directly behind the ":" maybe you put a space " " before the ":" That causes the same error. Another way to get that error is by using instead of ":" an empty space " ".

If you know hot to put a screenshot in this forum (I never tried) type the blinky /giveme command that generated the error and put the screenshot here, so I or someone else can take a look at it. For me the /giveme works, so I'm very curious now.

Making a video tutorial is a terra incognita for me. Maybe if you're used to minetest you can make them.
