Mod Mirroring/Archiving?

while you can't stop people from bolting, it might not be a bad idea that we start archiving mods (grouped by license/repo) and mirroring those archives in case they decide to wreck their work on the way out.
Thoughts?

Some people want to be "forgiven" on the Internet; can't do anything against this. The current way of posting mods is fine as-is, but if you have a copy of the mod, feel free to redistribute it...

I dont know if he'll be back. What sucks is he had archived a lot of other stuff on git that disappeared along with his stuff, including some of my older stuff i cant find on my own drives lol

Archiving/Mirroring Mods is a cool idea.
But it is also lots of work:
Every mod update must be added to the repo.
If a few people would work together this would be possible.
There is also the question where it could be stored.
Github would be possible...
