Can you make a furnace render plantlike?

Hello,
I made a campfire texture and I want to make it a furnace that renders plantlike. After I place it, almost immediately, it turns into a normal furnace. Can I fix this?

replaces it with a default:furnace when it's out of fuel. Try replacing "default:furnace" with the name of your node.
