The Mesecons thread has now become really long and none actually reads it.
Nevertheless I'd like to get your feedback about mesecons, the website and for devs the source code.
I will post recent polls about the mod here.
I hope some of you (users/webiste users/devs) participate!

Hey Jeija, I voted on a couple of them :)

other: I found out about mesecons via the forum but it wasn't in mod releases at that time. I saw the post when it was first created.

Thanks everyone for your participation, it helps me a lot.
Looks like there is gonna be another mesecon machine competition, we'll see!

Another suggestion : make gates with a small delay, so that when building a large circuit, they do not overheat, or create a stack overflow when removing overheat protection.

You could also use gates + a delayer

Off-topic, but why this poll requires javascript ? >.>
I voted on nearly all the polls.
About the website: you should find a hoster that doesn't put ads, they are really annoying, they always cover the crafting recipes...
EDIT: or are the ads from you ? if so, please make them less intrusive.

@Zeg9: You should try an AdBlocker
The ads are not by me, they're from dot.tk + ohost.de
I put up a new poll about the ads:

I would like to point out that .tk domains DO NOT PUSH ADS.
I have used a .tk domain before.

oh so then it's just ohost.de
but it's the dot.tk domain sets that strange favicon

Set one up with your hoster -- they send that in case the A-Level domain hoster has not set one up.

Your website opens up minetest.net in the frame when it is clicked

How did you find out about mesecons?I find mesecons by searching "minetest redstone" in google.
Mesecons machine competition 2.0?I will love to participate in a mesecons machine competition 3.0 if it have a easy levels like the 2.0. And you can add more chalenges like make the smallest 4bitadder (in flat and 3d metrics), the beautiful 4bitadder (this is not a joke), make the most complex machine than do nothing, or a complex machine that do something very simple.
ModWhat should be the next goal of mesecons?I want more thing like the 3*3 and the 1*6 microcontroller, the possibility to make comets in uCScript and change the color of the microcontroller (to have microcontroler of different colors). A button that put off(A,B,C,D);
A bridge for wires like a microcontroler "off(A,B,C,D); if(A) on(C); if(C) on(A); if(B) on(D); if(D) on(B);" which other texture:
Functionality, core + extensionsIf is not an experimental feature it must be in the core.
What do you use mesecons for?I only have do the hidro inverter, the torch diode and the 4-bit adder in the "Mesecons machine competition 2.0" but i want to do more complex things.
Websitemesecons.tk - usabilitymesecons.tk is very nice but i want to have the /giveme code for the intens in the iten page and a example of that item in a machine.
mesecons.tk - designIt's very nice.

Thanks, monty_oso for your feedback!
Some very nice ideas for competition 3.0 (propably next northern spring)
the possibility to make comets in uCScript
You can make comments at the end by writing :comment
A button that put off(A,B,C,D);
You can just remove the whole code and press enter.
Btw why do you use ; ? Actually that means "endif"
There should actually be such a wire crossing, but it doesn't work 100% yet.

Jeija wrote:Btw why do you use ; ? Actually that means "endif"
Because i'm a C programmer :P
But now because i know what means ';' i will only use those for finalize 'if'.

Don't know if it's been mentioned but it would be nice if sticky pistons moved other sticky pistons in similar fashion to how minecrap does it (useful for making flush hidden doors).

Want the comets in uCScript to appear when we put the pointer over the microcontroller in a different line and in a different color maybe green.
EDIT1: We need categories in mesecons machine competition 3.0 where the micro controllers are baned.

I voted in all the polls. BTW, just putting in my 2 cents, but I think a better programming system for microcontrollers should be created. Maybe something a bit easier to understand, but then again, I'm used to Java and C++, so...yeah.

I anwsered to the first and the last.
Using the microcontroller :
I use it a bit for T-flip flops, but I don't like to use it for complicated mesecon circuit : too easy, overheats too often)
Suggestion : make that a microcontroller overheats at a higher temperature if there is a steel block below it.

You definitely do something wrong, Nore, if the microcontroller overheats. Overheating is only there fore protecting the server from crashing, e.g. when using a NOT-Gate and connecting input and output.
Making it overheat later doesn't make sense to me, would make the server crash.

+1000, this REALLY needs implemented.

I for one would love to see a bit more developer documentation. And I saw quite a few speed improvements that are possible (such as using a table set for the visited list rather than a table list). But all in all, Mesecons is the best mod around if you ask me :).

I've only built an airlock/decontamination chamber with mesecons so far. The microcontrollers where very useful. The only thing that annoyed me a bit was that I had to lay complex wires (the isolated ones didn't work). I'd like to have more higher-level cirquits in the way of home automation - sensors, microcontrollers and affectors connected with databusses and equipped with address decoders so that less wire is required.
Btw, the page with the poll doesn't work for me because it requires JavaScript.

When you place too many microcontrollers, some of them get more than 30 updates in 0.5 seconds, and they overheat because of that.

Coming soon...
@Nore: I personally don't think lots of people need a change of that. I suggest you to just change the overheat time yourself.

I think a too idea would be to make the mesecon wires like the wires in the technical mod. NP annoying and ugly things that stick pout from the wall. I LOVE IT though. Keep up the good work.

I have had bugs with the insulated T wires, and the Insulated Crossing in some of my compact circuits. I would fix that bug/make it more stable. Other than that, I would make a special insulated wire that goes vertically, and an insulated wire that curves right.

You could make mesecon wires look like a dot and when the is a wire next to it the wires connect.

I think databusses and adress decoders are a very good idea: it could be useful for very compact circuits. I also think that a turning insulated wire would be useful (instead of using a T-junction)
About the last version: I had a crash by turning on a mesecon next to a sticky movestone...
