[Mod] XGUI [0.1][xgui]

I wanted to test the new background formspec addition and I was able to create a new look for the default inventory. This mod only works if you are in normal mode and there are no other inventory mods installed. This is merely a test to see if it is actually possible. It is ,but it isn't easy to get everything perfectly aligned.

License (except for background texture): WTFPL

heheh glad to see use of my changes to the engine :)
TIP: background image is slightly moved to the left and up by value of spacer/2
this is made so because item is displayed in the top left corner, thx to the shift it will land in exact middle of the square

TIP#2: to get backgrounds fit the grid, make it square. if you expect it to be same sized as coordinates. so, if youre planning to make a background for 4*5 sized formspec area, in 16px resolution, background image shall be sized 4*16 x 5*16

Depending on the image size and how much you add as a negative margin changes the image size. If I had known this ahead of time, I would have done it even better. You are right about the image being x*16 and y*16, but you also have to account for the negative margin. I used -.5 for x and -.25 for y which for some reason yields the perfect result for hiding the box. This would make the image size if w=8 and h=8 to be 136x136. This would get the correct alignment and everything. You can see in my image that there are some spots where it could be shifted one pixel either direction but because one pixel would push it out of alignment.

I am not very good at graphics design but if you want it in the style of default minecraft, there's is super simple. Just grey boxes and borders.

You're just not allowed to redistribute DokuCraft textures without the author's permission.
Please ask the author for permission, or use different textures as soon as possible. :)

I checked the site I got it from and they said as long as I credit that it is from Dokucraft they are fine. I'll also add the link since it is a nice site to get textures from.

No, there still isn't a way to customize the hotbar it stays bland for now.

I updated the first post with new textures. The first one is a template for a 128x128 inventory and the second is a texture I created. I know PilzAdam wanted a texture to upstream as a default.

I have kind of abandoned this since a lot of it would involve changing the default code which probably should be done anyways. However, I know there are bigger things that everyone is working on in Github. This was more of an experiment to see how it worked. I could probably get rid of the mod status on it.

I still think there should be a gap between the hot bar and the rest of the inventory. I've seen a lot of new users on YouTube get confused rather easily believing the hot bar is at the bottom on the inventory. Pointing out the obvious seems to be a requirement these days.
