Plz help me with mods!

Do you have to make a new world in order for mods to go into effect? I put the mods in: computer>Minetest>mods>minetest>Mods_here.txt
Did I do it correctly?

You dont have to create a new world for mods to get working.

Depends on your installation. Do you use a globally installed version in linux (like with software center) or an self compiled run_in_place or windows build?

Yes, I have the actual MineTest from the website, but I still have the SC version.

Some mods like moreores work at map generation phase. Those mods still register their items so they are available in Creative Mode, but in order to see the items/nodes spawned naturally, try going to unexplored areas of your world, since already generated areas won't generate those items/nodes.

ok, kaeza. I just went to an unexplored area, but havent found anything new :(

try digging a bit (or a lot). Again, taking moreores as an example, Mythril is naturally spawned 500 blocks under the surface (i.e: below -500 y)
EDIT: Tin ore is generally anywhere. Make a pickaxe and start diggin' :)
EDIT2: If all else fails, try creating a new world.
