Cannons Mod
This mod simply adds cannons to minetest.

CHANGELOG

Can you tell me what is dependent on lulzpack. Also can you make the license WTFPL. Or could I make a copy and edit it.

Nice mod, some suggestions:
  • The shells aren't thrown far enough; unless you fire off a cliff, it self-destructs the cannon.
  • You only need to upload the "cannons" folder.
  • Could you make the cannon face the way the player faces when placed?

Well... cannos shots in the direction that you are looking at, and they rotate properly for doing this, you just have to look toward your target when you are behind the big invisible cube around the cannon and right click.

I agree with Menche that the cannon doesn't fire anywhere near far enough and tends to blow itself up along with the player.

I love the idea of cannons but this needs more work to be great. A few suggestions of my own, make it shoot further and actually allow aiming (instead of just shooting in direction aimed), get it to shoot further and to change the sound to sound more like a cannon. Otherwise it seems good enough right now as it is.

i think that you should ride in it (not moving or anything) and then were we look we press a button "Y" maybe and the item we are holding is shot

Cannons shot themself only if you aim themself,i tested it.I think it's not necessary to make them shot further,i think ricky might only make other bombs that shot themself further.

Guys, i think that you are using it in the wrong way.
When you right click on the cannon's area (defined by the transparent block around the cannon) you have to look at the target, not at the cannon.

This seemed to (somewhat) fix it. Some new issues I've noted include:
* When firing rather long distances, the cannon balls either never reach target or get stuck midair (see screenshot below).
* Firing sound still could be done better.
* I noticed some minor graphical glitches in cannons appearance but not an issue for me.

Seems to be a rather good mod.

Thanks for reporting I'll try to solve it in the next release

Yes it's true, but i haven't found better sounds with compatible license.
