Modders,

Since we're working on a lot of code, and sharing it, we need a simple way to manage everything. The best way I've found is gitorious:

https://gitorious.org

It allows you to host git repositories, join teams, and use tags for version management and download links. Best of all, it's completely free (AGPL licensed)! I even made a group for us already:

https://gitorious.org/+minetest-modders

So please, consider joining us on gitorious!

You need to write down all your sites with accounts info in a notebook or a word doc. helps a lot.

Word doc? This is a free game, we use LibreOffice! :)

Better yet.. use Password Safe if you're on Windows:
http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/

.. or Password Gorilla on Linux/Mac/*nix/*bsd:
https://github.com/zdia/gorilla/wiki/
(there's also a Windows version, in case you want a portable password manager)

Both PWsafe and PWGorilla can open the same database file types.

How it works?
You set up a single password to encrypt your pass database.
If you ever lose your password file (ie: if you keep a copy in your USB thumb drive), you don't need to worry; since it's encrypted, it's way improbable that someone will decrypt it (you should change the important passwords though).

They both come with password generators.. useful to generate a different hard-to-guess password for each site.
