FOSS gamedev and creative worlds

i am runing window 7 64 bit 4 gb ram dell insperon 15 i run the game smoothly i want to install mods though i installed it i am pretty sure i did it correctly but they wont work i am so confused and can i get custom skins and what about texture packs i want to know how to install them i have looked every where for the topics above tried a few things but no luck pleas respond asap

I'm a bad source for Winows, but here is the wiki. The front page has links concerning mods and texture packs.

I have seen some posts here on the forums about "skins", which I interpret as textures for players. Can't recall one off the top of my head, but maybe try doing a search for skins?

You can use any Minecraft skin with Minetest; it depends on the server you connect to, to have a skin switching mod (or per-user skin mod) to be able to change it.

I think the reason that mods are not working for you is that they are not enabled. To enable them, open minetest and select the world, click "configure", click "enable all", then click save.

What version of Minetest do you run?
