shupa world ideas requested
shupa (super) world ideas needed - will be my magnum opus
stuff so far: (trying to think of stuff not done yet or at least i haven't seen it yet)
huge + autogenerated as a world - the generate time for like gespensterwald was huge, much complicated would be even worse
the land will be built from images (imageloader), and that becomes the map (technically cheating, yeah, but woot i finally get a map)
and also use the v6 mapgen also for caves and ravines and mt trees, etc. - done this before by accident lol
biomes - from africa to artic, blended, with the proper trees for each, meadows, underground rivers
salt versus fresh water? - bad water (poison like the alkali pools in the american west) - what heals/fixes poison water?
volcanoes! and of course there will have to be quests like climb the volcano and toss the ring (or bean or whatever) into the lava crater, or better yet you have to go up there to get the object! muhwahhahaha
seasons and deciduous trees that lose their leaves (hence the english 'leaves' for those things that fall off trees - these will fall off and leafdecay
wind - constantly blows the way the clouds go, and so boats//iceboats/sandskimmers with sails and stuff that uses wind, kites
i want rope, period. nuff said, even if i have to grow the cotton ala the farming mod to make it - no more prince of persia, just use a rope!
scary woods with huge trees (livable inside?) - npc's? what do npc's do exactly beyond getting in the way and initiating/rewarding quests?
a level system, with experience points? - meh, should be something new like gathering shtuffel or getting quest rewards to gain abilities AHA!
i hate stupid busy-work quests just to level-up, make it grand or don't bother - something with decent rewards like cool abilities!
not a level system but an ability system! - you now have the ability to make x or do y or whatever. patches? skulls? STARS! an abilities hud!
more plants, poison and healing and food (something uncomplicated beyond oblivion's potion crafting, like gather and just use it as is or combine)
because of the static/ignore error, all entities will have to static nodes, then turn to entities at interaction, then back to nodes - like falling stuff does
i don't care for combat in a survival/questing game like this, more like fighting against the world for survival rather than enemies
that said, there should be a lot of enemies, as in stuff that kills you - like hungry wolves and mad tigers and alligators and sharks and snakes...
nodes that go boom in the night (as in creeperfrogs, zombiefrogs, skelefrogs) - ewww, skelefrogs would shoot like teeth with their tongues! ewww
and some sort of basic alien/forerunner storyline that propells the whole thing forward, hence the quests - maybe just secret alien abilities...
collectables (of course) - can't compete/win without collectables!
so what do you think should be in it? - reach for the stars!
thanks,

edit:
from back in my days at RPGrinders:
* a newspaper, generated from stuff that happens in the game - hmmm, requiers a lot of stuff to be happening
* world runs constantly, even for singleplayer - managed by having a lot of random stuff happen at load from the difference in os times (which is why you need the newspaper, just to keep up)
* new random quests (which in our world would be new random abilities, perhaps made/combined from a list or chosen if you don't have it)
* quests/hiring - there are newspaper posts where npc x needs to hire a crew to clean out skelefrogs or some such from a wood or somewhere - you can be hired and perform said task and get rewarded by the npc, usually with a choice of rewards
* baddies versus goodies versus neutrals - there are basically moral factions (ala elder scrolls) and though you can't join you can align yourself with one or more of the factions, participating in their quests, etc.
* various temples and things where you can appeal/sacrifice to get better randoms ;P
* npc "friends" that constantly nag you to do stuff with/for them and basically get you in trouble - was orginally hooked to twitter! eeek!
oh god, there are so many!
since we are doing abilities instead of levels, there is no grinding! yay! - but there will be basic quests to get the basic abilities (like cooking)
a lot of this stuff is from before even runescape! wow - it has already become old now
