Is there an actual limit for how many items can be added to minetest? I just wonder. :D

In the stable version 0.4.7, only up to 4096 diffrent nodes/blocks are supported. The dev version supports far more. That's also the reason why a recent client on a not-so-recent server will see one block as "unknown node".
