I was wondering how mese is supposed to be pronounced, is it:

1. messy
2. me-see
3. mess

or somthing else...

No! Look at the bottom right of the left box, there should be a speaker icon. Click it.

I call it Me- Seh , like...eh. I think the name of this thing is quite...lame though. At first I thought It was supposed to be some sort of gold just using The periodic table symbols...then I remembered...wait, thats not even the periodical name for gold >:U

The elemental name for gold is Au (that was the name of our band's show last year). And I'm sure mese has some meaning.

It means "month" in Italian. "Months" in Spanish. "Oak" in Turkish. If you look up the Afrikaans translation, you may wanna make sure you are mature. It has no Swedish translation. Unless it's slang for something. >.>

Also, it's short for MSN Messenger in Finnish.

I read someone asking what mese actually means.
minetest wiki wrote:The origin of the block is just plain random. In the early days of the game I [celeron55] needed to add something to be mined from the ground, and ended up with this humorous nonsense block, and haven't removed it from the game from since.
Mese actually means “msn messenger” in Finland and is used as a silly word (it sounds silly) in the ohjelmointiputka programming community. Additionally it is thought that the glasses of the emoticons 8) and 8D are “mese glasses”.
We must be careful not to clone Notches mistakes.
