Float Islands (Not sure where to post)

I'm having trouble getting float islands in mapgen v6. I know you have to edit mintest.conf, but I can't figure out exactly how.

When creating a new world chose "indev" as mapgenerator.

That only works with the current dev version, not 0.4.7 stable.

indev mapgen does work in 0.4.7 stable :)
Add 'mg_name = indev' to minetest.conf, the core float islands are small and rare at y = 500 but are more common higher up, and have a bug that causes flat sides.

I chose indev as mapgenerator, and flew up for about 3 mintues, but didn't see any float islands. I am also using the dev version. Should I just keep going up or am I missing something? Is there any way to get them to appear further down?

Update: Found some float islands. I had to go up to about 2000. Still wondering if there's any way to get them a bit lower.

Jordach that's excellent, if they were 16x16 they would be true skyblocks :)

Yes there's a mapgen setting that can be added to minetest.conf for the lowest altitude.
They only get common towards the top of the world around y = 30000, you'll have to teleport.
Or if you're patient try my flolands mod for larger more exotic shapes.

Sometimes I see floating shadows everywhere and when i fly soooooooooooo high up,I see a massive floating Island! so,I suggest you find a massive shadow somewhere in your map and fly waaaaaay high and you might see a MASSIVE floating island(or maybe just air and just had a bug).
When life hands you lemons,throw it back at life saying "I don't need your goddamn lemons!" =D
