What db backend are you using?
Have you noticed other file corruption on your computer?
Why the fuck do you use a trilinear filter on 16px textures!?

Sometimes it can be worse, with huge cliffs. Was the same throughout 0.4.7 dev builds on my XP OS and still does it in 0.4.8 stable or dev on my Win 7 OS.
