Gold

I have finally mined deep enough to find Gold, Diamond, and Mese. So now that I have plenty of gold ignots what do I do with them? I tried to make tools but cannot seem make them out of gold.

So my question is:
How do you use gold?

on default minetest gold is pretty much useless you can only make blocks using ingot

What's the use of gold in real life?

For jewellry and for keeping it in the bank = not useful to dig or to make fire...

In the vanilla Minetest you can use gold only for 2 things: Creating gold blocks and bragging around how much gold you have. Seriously, gold is fucking rare, I even find mese more often.

The following mods use gold:

• default: gold block (3×3 gold ingot)
• colormachine: color machine
• factory: conveyor belt, arm, small gold gear, taker
• moreblocks: additional recipe for locked chest: 1 chest + 1 gold ingot
• technic: energy crystals, control logic unit, gold chest
