Better Mob Support

by DevynCJohnson » Sat Jun 28, 2014 01:37

I would like to suggest that Minetest have a better mob support. It would be great if there were an API to specifiy a body shape, size, jumping, explode, etc. It seems that Minetest has poor support for mobs. Can this be added in the next Minetest engine update?

By the way, I am a developer (https://github.com/DevynCJohnson/DCJ-Minetest-Mods). So, how can I post mods at mmdb/. I have read viewtopic.php?f=11&t=7854

Welcome!

Concerning the mmdb I hope someone can help you with it. Maybe asking on the IRC-main channel works faster for you: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#minetest

However, to let more players know about your mods, it helps to announce them in modding general (with a screenshot) on the minetest forum. When there's a playable version with licenses it can/will be moved to mod releases. You can make a link to your GitHub for it.

Edit: missing word

This is basically what Simple Mobs does. Better, check the “mobs” mod included in Carbone, in the “mods” directory, which is based on Simple Mobs but heavily improved (better performance, a new monster, more balanced).

Wrong: currently, it just expects these mobs to be done fully in Lua and it's entirely possible.

Thank you @Calinou and @Topywo for the help. I will try that.
