[Mod] Nuclear Material [nuclear_material]

Description:

This mod adds radium ores to the mapgen. Mining an radium ore yields one radium lump. The radium lump can be used in the furnace (burntime=20), or it can be used to craft various objects. Crafting four radium lumps produces a radium block. Radium blocks and one radium lump can be used to make a nuclear bomb. The nuclear bomb as an explosion range of fifty voxels in all directions. Radium blocks and ores have a soft glow. This radiation is easy to spot in dark caves.

interesting mod :)


the technic mod already has uranium in the same fashion but i find uranium burning in a furnace odd and a bit comical :D sa for the bomb, nuke mod has something close.

@crazyginger72 Okay, then I will change the uranium into radium. As for the bomb, the explosion is larger than the mese tnt in the nuke mod. The TNT in the nuke mod is weak compared to a nuclear bomb.

you could do Pl not U it is a radio isotope and can still make a nuclear weapon :D

as for the textures i never under stood why 99% of the world thinks Uranium is green lol its mined mostly yellowish and is just like most metals after enrichment lol. i would be nice to see some more radioactice elements like cesium, radium as you said plutonium and more with strange new uses in minetest! :D

sorry i am a science nut, physicist, engenieer and aslo love realisim, my reactor on my technic fork has controlrods, fuelrods, rod holders, and even melts down an forms corium lol!

Nuclear bombs always get dropped out of a plane to destroy more houses, because of the higher spread.
Also, why do those bombed nodes disappear? Drop them

@crazyginger72 Would changing it from radium to plutonium and changing the color help get my mod added to the mmdb and moved to "Mod Releases"? I am wanting to get my mods to be added to the mainstream Minetest game. What can I do to accomplish my goal? I am wanting to become a well-known mods developer. True, I can never be as good as VanessaE or PilzAdam, but I want to contribute a lot to Minetest. Also, how can I earn the "developer" status on this site?

devyn your mod can honestly be whatever you like it to be and how you like it , if you follow the guide just post a move request and it will be reviewed and moved!

there are lots of great and some crazy mods in the releases , cragi-davi has bacon ore and tool for one i find that funny and slightly absurd lol.

as far as the mod being added to the minetest_game that is a long story as it will need to be agreed upon by a lot of people but dont worry even the little 1 or 2 node decorative mods still get love on here!

@crazyginger72 Thanks. Once I can figure out how to submit mods to the mmdb, that will encourage me to make more mods. I love to program, but I want to program stuff that people will use and enjoy.

@rubenwardy I still cannot login to the mmdb. I have tried. What do you suggest?

Well, some of my other programming projects are doing well and I have been learning C++. This means my Minetest projects will not be too active. I want to spend more time on my other projects, so you will all see me very rarely. If any of you have really enjoyed my mods (Nuclear Material, Senderman, and anything else on my Github Minetest project), feel free to adopt the project. (Since they are licensed under WTFPL, I cannot legally stop you anyway). I hope that I have made some kind of positive impression on the Minetest project and community. It seems that this mod doesn't work in 0.4.11 or is my minetest weird? cause I couldn't play with the mod.

You've installed it wrong. Redownload, but instead of renaming the folder go into it and pull out the nuclear materials folder. The author of this mod did stupid things and combined multiple mods in one folder, you need to pull out the one one you want.

Ie: move mods/dj-minetest-mods/nuclear-material to mods/nuclear-material.

Hope this link even works.

What you must do to make this work.

1. Download the data and parts of the mod. (Init.lua, depends.txt, & textures)

2. Open up your download folder on your computer and make a file named "nuke"

3. Make sure to put the nuke folder in your mods list in the minetest folder

4. Enjoy!
