Server problems

Euhm hi,

so recently I got a problem. Normally a friend and I play together on one of my worlds and I send him like my IP. Which worked fine, till few days ago. We changed of internet type and it no longer works.
Back before the internet changed I could only connect with the WAN adress , my friends aswell as me and now I can't
My loadingscreen gets stuck on: connecting to server, full bar but nothing else happens.

debug says:

-> I assume its just because I close the loading screen as it gets stuck for forever.

Any ideas of what might be wrong and how I might get it fixed?

The first question i have in mind : Your public address is it fix ?

And give the address and the port of your server, with this informations we can try the connection :)

Before we changed of the internet my IP changed digits like several times, now the IP doesn't change its always the same. So I take it that it was a dynamic and this one hasn't changed so...
Well the Ip is 141.134.85.116 and the port is basic 30 000.


I also tried using remombo or however it is called to avoid that but it doesn't let me log in or anything so yeah, this is my only chance :/

-restart the current world
OR
- stop the current world
- creating a new world
- try to connect to the new world

I tried several of my worlds , one time on a new one and I restarted the current world several times.

Have you change anything in the subgame folder ? in this path "/minetest/game/minetest_game/"

Have you tried to connect to your server in LAN ? it works ?

Can you check your port forwarding ? the port 30000 is it use by an another software ? (change the port number if you can, use the 30001 port)

Reboot your modem/router if you can, and retry to connect to your server (with WAN)

I've searched internet several times for port forwarding but I never found it :/ I'm not really good with it.
I did check the firewall which did allow it.
I've rebooted few times that didn't exactly work :S

Next step if it doesn't work again :
Check the firewalls on your computer, try with your "OS-firewall" and "anti-virus" turning off

and try to ping your public address with an external connection, told me the answer

In this two links, they have many screenshots of routers interfaces, when you connect to your router (or modem) the interface is the same, if you hesitate, post a screenshot of your interface, we can guide you

Well the fire walls didn't work.

Need to check how it is with port forwarding but never found the info I needed.
and what do you mean with pinging the address with an external connection? :)

with step 2, default gateway before the 192.00 etc. there is like some random stuff like 830:C8DF: etc... Don't know if that also needs to be included :/

you need numbers like : 192.168.0.xxx (mostly 1 or 254 for usual public router/modem)
take this ip address, and copy/past it in your web browser, I'll let you follow the rest of the guide, I go to bed (2h AM in my country)

thanks, seems I need to log into our provider tho. But well... My dad doesn't trust anything and minetest would be on that list, so need to sneak into it to check it out when he is gone tomorrow hehe ;D
