Nice, simple, clean idea. It fits into the default game very well.

But it is a bit buggy. A few times grass spawned floating above the ground, with one air node between the grass and the surface.

Edit:
At these world coordinates, I found floating grass:
X=680
Y=10
Z=520
Mapgen = MGV6
seed = 8300522933240616803

I hope this helps you finding the bug.

thanks, I don't know if I'm able to fix this bug.
For any reason sometimes mgv6 generates dirt at the nyanland too
