graphic enhancements, how about this idea:

by joern » Tue Apr 19, 2011 23:26

hey,

I also had the idea to program a game like minecraft. now minecraft is out and also minetest.

I just shared my idea about the graphical stuff with mojang.

Now I give it to you as well:

How about this?

I already though about this but I agree with the comments written in your link, it's a bad idea. The blocks should not be removed because these are the characteristic style of the game!

Maybe we should think about Frostbite Engine as a new game engine for Minetest.
Not here for a while due to some troubles between my graphic card and Minetest.

Can't say I really like the idea. Blocks are the style of the game.

Hi joern,
I agree with the others.

I think your idea wouldn't work with Minecraft or Minetest, but I do think your're on to something. I think you should invest some time into your own game using your idea.

I think this would make a great client mod if possible.
