Hello all.
I'm here to talk about a problem many times me (And I'm sure many of you too) encounter on survival, (In my case, in SMP, as I don't play Single player survival).
Moving loaded chests.
I'll relate my version of this story
It's most annoying, when, you know, you're on SMP, and you have a lot of chests full of stuff, and all of a sudden, you want to move your chests (or maybe your entire home!) to somewhere else. You've got your inventory full, and you stare at your locked chests in despair. You know you have to make another bunch of chests to handle the increased inventory load during moving. You don't want to make open chests and let the forty thieves with peeled eyes get your treasure, but you also ain't feeling like crafting so many things that require your precious iron (or maybe you don't HAVE enough iron!) Anyway, you fervently, desperately wish to be able to just carry the chest as it is without all this hassle. And you get so despaired, you leave the game, sit back and daydream, and then come on the forums to make this post.
Well that's the story anyway. I need to now focus on how this could be implemented. It could be, you know, like players would have to point at a the desired chest, or, in the case of locked chests, their own chests, and press and hold a key to make the player "lift" the chest. You know, like instead of mining loaded chest when you left-click, you could instead have this happen. And while holding the chest, you can move around with the chest. And when you release the chest, if will fall in the free node in front of you. If there is no free node in front, check if a side node is free. If none with a 1 range of the player is free, keep the player holding the chest even if button is released. (LOL)
Feel free to suggest ideas for improvement.
As long as this is implemented
