What you are wanting is a minecraft clone and I suggest you start looking elsewhere and not in MineTest. We are not a MC clone and most people prefer to stay that way.

This is in 2015.

I see no difference in the size of the blocks from your screenshot. Blocks that are at more or less the same distance from the player are more or less the same size. The player from your picture is further away from the floor (zombies are ~2 blocks tall and he's above him). If I send you a screenshot of minetest flying 2 blocks above ground it would look smaller in the same proportions.

I doubt the blocks ever changed size in minecraft (anyway the picture that was from 2012 was the minetest one, the minecraft one was from the end of 2014 there's also a horse head at left, there were no horses in 2012 MC).

While we don't want to be a Minetest clone, some of its features are good.

Weather adds to the immersion, and has gameplay value.

Having text on signs graphically is being worked on. Until then, you can use a mod (signs, iirc)

Ok. Text is way too small on signs, without weather is not interesting .

Me neither. Perhaps it's a diffrent viewing angle? The lens through which the world is viewed might be slightly diffrent. At least that is how it felt when I moved from MC classic to MT years ago.

You can download sign mods. Some have nice size text.
You can also get a weather mod. There are a few of them now.
Many of my mods are now a part of Minetest-mods. A place where you know they are maintained!

The more blocks there are, the more polygons that need to be drawn by the engine. Older computers, tablets, and phones really can't afford to have to render more polygons. Unless voxel octrees are ever used in Minetest's graphics instead of polygons (extremely unlikely to ever be done,) Minetest will have to keep its current block size.

Either he's not getting what we are asking of him, or... I hope it's the first, though.
Perhaps he can explain it better in some other language?

He just gave up and uninstalled minetest: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=13213&p=191019#p191019
I don't think he follows the thread anymore.
