Debuggr/IDE help

by aravol » Wed Oct 21, 2015 13:10

Starting on some modding, but I'm having a bit of trouble getting an IDE set up. I'd like to work via something that has proper debugging, rather than simply editing and executing code blindly.

I've perused the wiki, which only seems to make mention of the setup for Koneki, which has since been retired by Eclipse. Downloading the Lua Dev Tools from Eclipse hasn't helped, as the docs seem to indicate there's processes that need to be undertaken by Minetest to get the debugger attached. Are there any other tutorials I'm missing? Perhaps some of these tutorials need to be updated?

It might be tricky to run a mod without the engine beeing loaded and executed. At least you can add a command to re-load your mod by using dofile(..) on its init.lua again. Might work in some circumstances, but isn't really comparable to an IDE.
A list of my mods can be found here.
