Dummy player

by tbillion » Tue Nov 24, 2015 02:10

i am curious, is there a way to login over terminal to a minetest server and not have to use the app. THe reason i ask is becasue i play alone on my server (8 core 3.0ghz, 64gb ram, 20TB HDD space) however alot of the mods i have use abms and such and i want to be able to log in a fake player who will basically be factory supervisors and keep the abm going, but at the same time i dont want to hae to open a bunch of minetest windows (my current method) it would be nice if it was as easy as a shell script that would allow me to automatically log in say 20 NPC type dummies who can supervise all my abms.

Ideas?

use the "anchor" in technic for keeping parts of the map activ permanently but beware it will add lag - as it indeed keeps all abm's of that region alive
