minetest with faster pointing calculation, a tool with range = 140 does not cause lag:

It aborts if it found a pointable node, l need to make it abort if it reaches ignore that it doesn't lag if the range is set to inf.

Please, can you tell me why it doesn't work correctly here?


Before it tested every node in a big cuboid, now it just searches the nodes in the point line, so it doesn't work yet with nodes which have selection boxes which reach out of the node. It could be fixed by stacking quadratic plates in direction to the biggest (biggest abs value) coord of dir.

I suspect you're running into the same problem I had a year ago.
The camera has two components. One at a fixed height. And another
that bobs up and down one sixteenth of a block as you move sideways.
Mods cannot access that bobbing component. So a little inaccuracy remains.

He's modifying the client side cpp, not making a mod.

please don't post links to google drives. Use something like imgur.com (preferably a hosting site that doesn't delete images after 2 weeks.

Google monitors views and will block people not logged in to google etc. They also track accesses. Better to avoid them for something like this.

imgur.com doesn't even require you to get an account. and if one person looks at the image, they retain it indefinitely.

The easiest way is just to click "upload attachment", "browse" to the jpg file, "add the file", right-click/copy the file name's link, and paste it into your post bracketed with image tags.
