I was building at a labyrinth on my Karsthafen-map, there I had a view, that you can have only in the fly modus on the map:

This image is taken with Minetest Vanilla (without mods or post processing except a convert from .png to .jpg)...

And what is it, what you see? Its a iluminated sphere seen from a big tunnel.

Yes. Its the fog in the tunnel.

paramat, please use the cave_lighting mod https://github.com/HybridDog/cave_lighting and let it put torches everywhere in the dungeon(s)

I too would really like to see a screenshot of those dungeons with lights. I wonder whether sporadic torches placed at random here and there would add to the appeal.

Until then, here is a shot of a distant Nyan Cat I originally found in the floor of a maze level in Fun Caves. I was able to then fall through the floor without having to find the exit.

everamzah, we're writing about using the mod to automatically light the dungeons, to find out how lighting from hand placed torches differs to lighting from automatically (the way l coded it) placed ones, you need to perform lots of experiential samples l guess, l didn't have success with comparisons yet


The champignon slice looks old, it's already brown and has black corners, please consider whether eating it is a good idea.

TumeniNodes, it's your decision which node you use for cave_lighting, l'm not sure what happens if you try to make it place stalagmites, it tries to put them on the ceiling and walls…

In the dungeon(s) torches fit better l assume.

I reset [FCS] Fun Caves server map and am using valleys mapgen now. I think I will not build my house at spawn this time.
