Open public registration for the wikis again

It came to my attention that today, BOTH official Minetest wikis ([url]wiki.minetest.net[/url] and [url]dev.minetest.net[/url]) are not open for registration. I don't know since when.

IMO I think they should be opened up for registration again; at least the Community wiki. I heard that not even paramat has access. Come on, this is just silly.

I am probably one of the lucky few persons who got access to the wikis. Probably because I was very early onboard when they weren't locked down.

What was the reason for locking them down in the first place? Did they have a serious vandalism problem? Because I can't recally any.

I am for opening public registration again. If you keep potential contributers outside, the wikis are doomed to rot.
Also, I have made a few calls for wiki participations in some of my forum posts, in order to gather information collaboratively and the forum is simply unsuited for stuff like this. Examples:
- “Mod interoperability” on the dev wiki
- L-System tree examples on the dev wiki
