This is a server for noobs, although anyone is welcome. There are signs and buildings at spawn explaining how to do some basic things. It uses the same seed as Extreme Survival Minetest.

This server now runs 24/7! I have a script to backup the map and player files every night at 12:00 a.m. Central time.

Well, the server suffered a map corruption... I'll work with Worldblender in the next few weeks to get it back how it should be.

The server is up now, running on a machine that will stay on most of the time! The port has changed to 28910, but same IP.

Okay! The lost buildings that I know of are back! If you know of any others, please let me know and send me your local copy if you had enable_local_map_saving = true set before the builds were lost, and after July 12, 2016.

I made crafting protectors easier. Now they're back at default recipes. This is Noob Academy, not Pro Academy XD.

I would put up some more signposts, e.g. to point to the forest for cutting the first trees.
Also, that message 'now craft some sticks' came up more often, even after I had made tools.

Would it be possible to pack the whole thing for use as a singleplayer-tutorial ?
Maybe only the central part, say 500x500.

As far as the message, that tutor mod is about 3/4 of a year old. :P

Maybe it only checks for sticks from regular wood,
but I cut a jungletree, so I got jungle-sticks...

There are some unknown textures, e.g. that hammer-and-anvil,
and some items in shops and frames.
That sign "no mobs" should clarify that the wildlife in the treefarm might bite back :-)
I also found an unusable furnace - stuck with some items, that I cannot take out.

Is there a way to get a ride down the rails with a cart in the shop-building ?
(A pushbutton or the like on the roof would be nice :)

The unusable furnace is probably protected, so that's why you can't take any objects out.

Yes, just place a minecart on the rail, climb in, and punch it. Use A and D to steer left and right.

Sometimes my server hoster removes mods...

Find an unprotected area, craft up a furnace, and place it :)

I call my other server that because you can only play there if I know you well enough to give you interact. :)

when I already moved on to stone tools.

Also, I found no grass / junglegrass yet.

The server could be down for a week or so because the computer's power supply stopped working.

The data is safe with me, but the computer's power supply stopped working, as in, it will turn on, but shut off shortly after. I'm looking into replacing one or more of the components of it, while leaving the hard drives left intact. Beware that it could be delayed by a week...

Actually, the problem is with the motherboard, as it will run out of power soon after I turn it on. So now I have to replace the motherboard instead!
