Minetest Package Management

by MarkTraceur » Sun May 20, 2012 02:53

Hi!

I've just completed the first iteration of what I'm calling the Minetest Package Index. You can find it here:

http://50.116.10.200:5000

Please feel free to browse the packages there and submit any you see missing--I'd very much like to have a comprehensive list of packages.

Please note that I have to manually approve each one for now, so it may be a little while before your package shows up. Be patient, it will be there soon.

The source code is available at gitorious:

https://gitorious.org/mtpm/mtpm-server/trees/master

You can also download the client (requires Python):

https://gitorious.org/mtpm/mtpm-client/trees/master

However, the client has not been tested with the latest information, so you'll have to wait a little while for a fully functional release.

Thanks so much!

I actually crashed the server earlier by uploading a .zip file.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡o ͜ʖ ͡o) [$ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) $] ( ͡$ ͜ʖ ͡$) ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ

My image and media server is back online and is functioning as normal.

Nice, now if this could be formed into a submenu off of the main one with repositories and synaptic like action, then it would go a ways towards helping minetest form its own niche separate from that other game. It would also simplify things and help gain appeal with non-computer savy potential users by giving the game a modularity that is not usually seen.
