leaving for some time

by SegFault22 » Sat Jun 30, 2012 20:30

I'm leaving this community for some time now, because it's too hard to do ANYTHING worth it here any more - too many immature jerks and griefers keep making jokes of my work and everyone ignores my mods as if they were nothing but trash. My buildings and creations keep being griefed and the admins/moderators don't care. I can't connect to many popular servers, most likely because they have blocked me for having a slow ISP.
All I can do now is go grief people's stuff in Minecraft, but I can't connect to the popular servers because I can only use a cracked client. If any of you have an old Minecraft account that you don't use any more, please contact me via E-mail.
If you all find a way to clean up this disgraceful crapland you have turned Minetest into, please contact me via E-mail so that I can come back and see if it's safe.
I am sure that me and Jordach aren't the only people who will be leaving, so all you can do to stop this project from dying is to clean it up. If you don't, more people will leave and servers will be shut-down due to massive spamming/griefing. Eventually, the game may be ''forgotten'' like many other games, and Minecraft will continue to melt slow PC's forever.
GOODBYE

I completely disagree with you SegFault22. The only thing that can stop this project from dying is to make the codebase better and fix the memory leaks. That's why I wasn't playing this game.
My mods: The Nether | Doctor Who (WIP)

I have quit minetest ... again. I am heavily unimpressed by both the game and the community.

I think the main point why he is leaving, is that the multiplayer of Minetest is currently awful. There are normally not a lot of people online and there are too much griefers for few moderators..

...what? Why would people ban you because you have a slow connection?

Too many immature jerks? I agree, but use protection mods, or go on a server with protection mods then ask a moderator to protect your builds.

If people ignore your mods, there's a reason - either they are unneeded, they have crappy textures and/or code, or you just made something other mods can do the same way, or in a better way.

Minecraft is also a crapland (actually, a tad worse); lots of cheaters (I rarely see cheaters in Minetest) and griefing. Some server admins are can be really idiot.

Well, I recently have found out that someone is actually using one of my mods in their server...I'm not going to be completely gone, you just won't find me on the more-popular servers or in sections of the forum where spammers are abundant.
