Hey all, I am thinking of hosting a Minetest server. I don't know anything about hosting servers, but that I would need to forward the port to my router to host it on my PC. But I want to host it remotely. And for free. I remember Stan5 was going to make a server, if he got enough clicks he could, but I forgot what service that is >.<
The idea I have is to host a fully ''creative'' server, but instead of ''creative'' mode, it's in survival mode, with damage disabled and everyone has give privs/trusted members of the community have fly/fast, maybe even worldedit.
But I do not know what to do to find ''minetestserver.exe'' or the required files, because I use windows. If someone can help me ''make'' the server files/folders and possibly find a free service to host the server, I think I can handle the rest (default privs, give_initial_stuff, auth.txt, etc.)

Looking for free server hosting
Resources are abundant; only money is scarce. People should not have to work hard and remain poor just to pay for the needs of survival.

No I mean a website where I can upload the server and the website hosts it, not just a server where I can play. I remember Stan5 was using some sort of service like that, but I forgot what it is :P

Try searching "free vps". I did and got a bunch of results that might be what you want.
