They might know, but some less experienced community member might not. It is not cool and not consistent with everything else. If I start calling you BrightBacon, everybody knows who I mean, but chances are you don't approve too much.

Moderators are free to ban you for continuously saying 4.3 if you do it even once after this reply.

if thats how its going to be then fuck this game its not even worth it and it wont last long i can tell this game is going to be another one of those trashed games and with you people that get your panties in a twist with something as simple as a version being typed wrong you need to get the hell off the internet

People might think there may be a BETTER VERSION THAN THERE CURRENTLY IS.
I KNOW PEOPLE STUPID enough to do this.

Secondly, people don't give chances because they think oh it looks like this, but ain't the real thing.

It isn't just being typed wrong - it is being *deliberately* written wrong after being corrected first politely, then more strongly by multiple individuals. A simple typo or two is easily forgivable. Yours is now a deliberate act done in a belligerent manner with no regard for the experience of the rest of the community, the programmers therein, or the author of the game. This is far less forgivable.

The Internet was created by people who are a *lot* more strict and also a lot smarter than any of us, yourself included. It is you who need to reconsider your use of it, not us. YOU are the one who is in the wrong.

Wow you people, no one should care that someone wrote 4.3, everyone knew what he was on about and it didn't mess up anyone's day.

For the record if you grammar nazi's hadn't pointed out a stupid little mistake you would have saved a lot of time, far more than the "0.007 seconds" it would of taken to write a 0. Damn. If you really care so much about the lack of a 0 then you need to get your priorities straight.

Of course it's 0.4.3, anyone who has played minetest would know this, that isn't the problem. After reading the entire thread it seems the problem is the fact people feel the need to correct tiny mistakes and often take them personally. It's not like anyone who read 4.3 thought "wow the last version I played was 0.4.2, where have I been the last x number of years?". They would of read it and thought "he obviously means 0.4.3" and move on. But no the nazis inhabit even the humblest of forums it would seem.

It's all very belittling.

Well no, as Jordach said earlier, there really are people out there who are uneducated enough to believe that 4.3 is a legit version number, and who will act exactly in the manner we're trying to prevent here.

This thread would not have devolved to "belittling" if those who insist on using the wrong version number would have, instead, simply said "Oops! you're right, I meant 0.4.3". The subject would have died there.
