stuck eternally on connecting to server

by anonymous12 » Sun Sep 23, 2012 20:11

I make a local server, and I try to access it with my other computer. Both are latest minetest versions.
When I use computer 1 as a server, computer 2 is stuck eternally. It works the same way with computer 2 as the server.

What's up with this?
EDIT: I also can't connect to anybody else's server.

You might need to allow ports 30000 - 30005 on your firewall and make sure you are using the latest dev version of minetest.

What operating system are you using?

the latest version is 0.4.3, right?
ports are allowed on comp2, and comp1's firewall is off.
windows.

prepare for trouble and make it double

because that's a disaster waiting to happen
If you can think it, you can make it.

comp1(the one with the firewall off) is a computer I only use for minetest.
I only allowed 30000-30005 on comp2/comp1.

It works if I connect to the LAN IP(192.168, etc.) but not through the WAN IP, and nobody else can connect either.

Can someone please help me here?

I have this same problem, no one can connect to my server even after port forwarding! I can connect through LAN.
