3D Skins for 0.4.4

Here is a website that has skins compatable with minetest 0.4.4
http://www.minecraftskins.com/
Save the skins anywere and paste them into games/minetest_game/mods/default/models
Rename them to character and your player shows the new skins.

No I meant that putting them in said folder with said players name doesn't appear to do anything. Still uses default skins. Same with the player_textures mod. No idea why either and seems nobody can tell me lol

If you want to use individual skins on your server, you have to install
PilzAdam's player_texture mod which can be found here:
http://minetest.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3587
The first post also tells you how to name the skins correctly.
My ingame name is "john", my IRC name is "john_minetest".
I am chef mod on this server: minetest.org : 30015(see here)

I downloaded a minecraft sam fisher skin from planet minecraft (sam fisher is from a stealth game called splinter cell)
