Are you saying that I put an abnormal brain into a seven and a half foot long, fifty-four inch wide GORILLA?

No, it is not. Stand-by is more correctly known as "Suspend to RAM", where the system's state is saved in memory and pretty much everything (including the CPU and network devices) gets shut down and powered off. Only the memory, the circuit that watches for the power button, and a few miscellaneous support circuits are still receiving power at that point.

You mean VPN, right?

No, that won't help since your machine has to be on, fully.

If you BUY a VPS server from a provider(usually paid by the month), then it si like having another computer, always on, offsite, with a good internet connection, but less RAM and CPU. You can buy a VPS and install Minetest on there.

Now working on my own clone, Mosstest.
I guess I'm back for some time.

I thought that standby = just the monitor turns off, suspend = suspend to ram, and hibernate = suspend to disk.

In many cases, on a PC standby and suspend have the same effect.
