Make sure the mod-fouler has the name of the mod. Sometimes its "autorname-modname-versionnumber", reduce that to "modname". Or post the error message.

For example, PilzAdam's wireworld mod comes in a folder named 'PilzAdam-wireworld-b97219d'. Rename it to the bit in the middle 'wireworld', and it works.
