If you can think it, you can make it.

The machine itself is a 3GHz P4 with 1GB of RAM and random HDDs. Internet connection is a crappy ADSL at roughly 4/1Mbps.

I don't think I need any parts for it, as it has plenty of processing power for my needs. But:

1) I hate it's mainboard because it makes lots of high-pitched sound.
2) The CPU fan makes lots of noise under load, which isn't surprising as the CPU's TDP is 84W.
3) And if the frequency is lowered by software, the mainboard starts making so loud high pitched sound that I nearly die (caused by onboard switching regulators).
4) Also the mainboard varies the CPU fan speed way too quickly, it should react much more slowly to not be annoying.
5) It's case is missing all the side panels. They don't exist.

I might have use for a more quiet and better but equally fast machine to be a new server. Or alternatively a new case and a mainboard that does not make high pitched sound, onto which the CPU and the RAM fits.

The CPU is a 3GHz Pentium 4 with 2MB of L2 cache and hyperthreading (which, by the way, is pretty damn badass for a P4 8)). So, umm... the socket is very probably LGA775. Dunno how to figure out what the RAM is without shutting the thing down.

Also, the server runs stuff like this this self-made wind speed meter, that requires a serial port.

EDIT: I guess I would have use for decent HDDs and whatever.

EDIT2: In any case an external hosting site would probably be best for this website, but quality hosting isn't exactly cheap and I already have the server running nevertheless...

I doubt anyone can donate anything useful, but will be happy if that happens. 8)
