Because of the number of mods we use here and the Minetest client's somewhat poor RAM usage, you need a fair amount of RAM to connect to this server.

Sorry for the continued downtime this morning, all. That bad RAM stick left some dirty footprints on the rest of my OS while it was still installed. Between that and my DVD burner having evidently also gone bad, I couldn't be sure what parts of my OS or its install media were damaged, so I grabbed a spare DVD drive, trashed the bad one, and re-installed the OS from scratch using a freshly-downloaded-and-burned install DVD image.

The server has been re-compiled and re-installed as well, for safety, and is up and running normally. No user data was lost.

The server will be down for several hours today starting at roughly 6:05 EST for a memory upgrade and burn-in test. Sorry for any inconvenience - we'll be back up and running normally once I'm certain the new RAM is 100% safe.

Update: The server has completed its RAM tests. One of the four sticks I received for this planned upgrade turned out to be DOA (tested on two different machines), but the other three are working fine, passing all tests with flying colors. So, we are up and running normally now.

New revision to colors.txt today to accommodate the latest moreblocks+stairsplus as well as adding a bunch of blocks that weren't being covered before. Needed so I could make a new map image using the C++ mapping tool, so we can have a full-size overview map finally.

The three at the left are probably the result of me teleporting around testing things. The one on the right? Maybe someone whose position was set somewhere out that way before the map was reset a while back, and then /spawn'd or /home'd to get back to somewhere familiar when they signed on next. Not really sure.

Interact has been revoked for s42/goatmanx99. Reason: griefing the red structure just south of the spawn: "main room" floor of building covered over with dirt, lava poured into the "computer room" therein, several mese tubes removed from the outside of the building.

Although I don't usually post about mod updates, I thought others should know:

I updated Moreblocks mod today, which now contains the circular saw mod, so most moreblocks stairs/slabs/microblock objects are now produced by cutting whole blocks with the circular saw. The circular saw can be found in the creative inventory.

The various moreblocks' stairs/slabs/microblocks items themselves no longer appear in the creative inventory. You must use a circular saw to cut them. Other mods that use stairsplus (e.g. gloopblocks, technic) are still in the inventory.

I've just released an update to Gloopblocks which does the same thing: All the slabs/stairs/etc. are now accessible using a circular saw and have been removed from the creative inventory.
