Well i knew that this would eventually happen! But redcrab's server is to full and sort of overloaded for computers with even a large amount of ram to connect! My laptop wont connect and it has 2 gigs ram and a amd turion 64 x2 processor and it cant even connect!!

I don't think the issue is your computer. I'm not getting any connection at all.

Are you stuck at the "Connecting ..." message, or are you able to move on to the loading page with the percentage?

I have a AMD1100TBE 6core overclocked @3.9ghz - 4GB of gaming Patriot RAM - SSD - ATI 6990HD card sitting on a 990FXA UD7 board and i can never connect either. Its not your PC's power its the server lag or ping, i assume your not from Russia and i think Redcrab's server is located in Russia. Play another game that shows ping of servers and look at the Russian servers, in Australia the ping can be well over 1000 at times. Nothing you can do about it you just have to find servers that are close to where you live. Could be worse if your in my boat where every server is the other side of the world, 98% of servers i cant connect to or its extremely laggy. Personally i been waiting for a good 2 years for an Australian server

Yeah, i have been waiting for a good australian server too, cornernote had one or two, but he has left minetest. I think Aqua has a PvP server but
i am not sure btw, redcrab's server is located in france :)

Yeah cornernotes was good as i could play with very little lag (RTT=50ish), however his servers didnt last long. Hasnt been a Australian or anywhere close in a long time, i guess most play MC as there is over 200 Aussie servers for MC. Most the time i just have to play singleplayer, LAN or Hamachi, but not many people i know want to play MT as they have MC. I like MT better but with lack of Australian servers i sometimes think about just buying MC.

Would have thought the connection to a French server wouldnt be too bad but i get a better RTT with American, still around 300 RTT though. The more people join the worse it gets, im not too sure how online works on MT but i think it transfers packets to every user on the server before returning to your client.

Either way most servers i connect to are near impossible to mine or build as placing one block can take 10 or more seconds to place/remove. I can nearly build the whole floor of a house before the blocks even appear. Not my connection either as i have a fast one for Australian standards (ADSL2+)
