Why aren't jungles enabled by default?

Why aren't jungles enabled by default in minetest 0.4.6? They don't seem to cause any bugs or errors, or slow down the game.

They leaves reduce the FPS a lot. Also it would screw up peoples maps if we enable it on maps, that hadnt it before.

Is there any fix that can be used to cause the leaves to not reduce FPS as much?

Guess that's what the option to turn leaves intransparent is for. In Minecraft, I had to use that option. Minetest works even with transparent leaves on my old hardware even though it gets slower. But those trees are so nice to look at I wouldn't want to miss them.
A list of my mods can be found here.

I would ask the same for dungeons...
Those don't make any lag, it's only cobble and mossy cobble.

I made a few (a lot of?) mods for minetest: here is a list.
See also the MT-Faithful texture pack (work in progress).
