linux server windows client

I have set up linux server for minetest according to this instruction:

I could connect to this by linux client, but when trying to connect from Win client I am frozen on "Item definitions" message.

Looking in server termnal I can see that "Xyz joins game" and no errors appear there. In client debug.txt it only says "WARNING: No factory for type=6" and then "No factory for type=3", but not sure if this is related.

Any idea if there is some mismatch between linux and Win versions of minetest that could cause this?

I can see during starup of minetest server it says VER=0.3.1. This is installed from th package and I don't know if there is any way to upgrade this. I am quite new to linux.

On win I was using 0.4.10 and 0.4.11. Is this the rrot cause of the problems? Will it work if I install 0.3.1 on Windows?

Some packages are horribly outdated.
It must be 0.4.11 or at least 0.4.10.

Instead of downgrading your Windows version of Minetest you should think about upgrading your Linux version of Minetest :)
