My mods folder looks like this (Linux/Lubuntu), but to give you an idea:

/home/TOPYWO/celeron55-minetest-d38b465_test 2/mods/minetest

Possible solutions for you:
- You can cut and paste all of "animals_modpack" subdirectories/subfolders into the minetest folder and delete the animals_modpack folder
- or extract the subfolders of animals_modpack directly in the minetest folder
- or make a file called "modpack.txt" in the folder animals_modpack. That keeps your minetest folder cleaner

Good luck and don't try shaving the sheeps :-)

Please ask about this on the Animals Mod thread, and be sure you include EXACTLY the error you got, word for word.
