I don't know if you're new with making images/pictures, new with minetest or new with both.
If new with both
Make a copy of your minetest directory (doesn't take much space). Don't forget to include the hidden files. Now you've a playing ground
Or make yourself a map/folder called something like "myfirsttexturepack" :-P
- open up your standard graphic/paint/image program on the computer.
- choose: open file and just pick one of the .png's from the default (see ashenk69 post)
- You can now change, erase or whatever the default .png into a picture you would like to have.
If you made a copy of minetest, just save (overwrite), if you made a map/folder, save it to that place.
- If you want to try out your textures, just start to play minetest
- if put into a map/folder, you can copy the .png-files (without the map/folder) to your the "all" map folder: --> /home/Topywo/celeron55-minetest-d38b465/textures/all. The ,png must be directly under "all", without their original "mother" folder/map
This is a very simplistic way to have quickly a texture-pack. A good way to find out if you like making texture packs.
