This is probably a common issue, but is there any way to increase framerate while the world loads. I disabled smooth lighting and the other "improved graphics" features. but my framerate still drops to about 15 from 60 while the game loads new chunks of land/water.
Help?

You can use "viewing_range_nodes_max" variable in the minetest.conf this will change a fog in a game.
